I just got off the phone with Verizon. I talked to 3 different people over 40 minutes long. Apparently you can only suspend your phone for 180 days a year. It took a million people to tell me this, now they are telling me I can port my number to a pre paid phone. Who knows how that will go. So lesson learned consult your carrier before you leave. Also you might want to tell them you are in the military because then they will suspend it for a longer period (but I don’t know if they ask for a military ID #) so beware!?!
